Welcome to my Wisdom page. This is my forum for publishing my thoughts and insights about whatever I feel like -- isn't the web great? Bear in mind a few caveats, however. First, unlike more traditional forms of publication, there is no peer review process which works must first pass before being published on the web, which has the following implication: it is vitally important to think critically before accepting as truth ideas and purported statements of fact that one encounters on the web, as there is nothing whatsoever to keep me or you or anyone else from simply writing a bunch of outright lies and posting them to the web in whatever form we choose. There are plenty of examples of complete bullshit which gets represented as "fact" on any number of websites; do a search on "white supremacy" or "creationism", for instance. Secondly, even philosophers such as myself who try to uncover truth and filter out falsehoods can still simply be mistaken; the fact that someone is not intentionally lying does mean that what she or he says is true. Hence even sites that are relativley free from dogma or political propaganda can still be misleading if they are read uncritically. The same is of course true for any form of media -- the news, books, and even peer-reviewed journals can contain false statements and inaccurate conclusions, though these are at least generally more reliable than random websites. Further, the material on this site should be considered as research-in-progress, at about the level of a preprint and not of a published paper. Like I said, there is no peer-review process at work here, with the possible exception of comment I receive from readers, and my ideas are constantly changing as I have new insights and revised understanding of previous ideas. Finally, note that this site does not represent a "complete" theory of anything and especially should not be taken as a form of dogma. I am simply sharing the ideas and insights I've come across with anyone who wished to read them, and these ideas come with no guarantees. Updates to the site will happen whenever I have time to write my ideas in a form which I feel is sufficiently developed to justify posting.
